Welcome to The Stakes

Over the past few months I have had the honor of hosting a number of interviews for the Kettering Foundation with high-profile newsmakers where we talk about an important and timely aspect of inclusive democracy.

I’m happy to announce that we have named this series The Stakes and collected them all at our website.

We release a new interview when there is critical news, roughly every other week. Each episode is just 15 minutes and we release them on YouTube, through social channels, and on the Kettering website.

The most recent interview, our first under the new title banner, is an interview I did recently with the iconic Stacey Abrams, focused on the architecture of voter suppression and what people can do to push back.

Stacey Abrams is former Georgia Assembly member and minority leader, the first ever woman to lead either party. She went on famously to be the first Black woman to be gubernatorial candidate of a major party in Georgia, and now is Ronald W. Walters Endowed Chair for Race and Black Politics at Howard University. She is host of the podcast Assembly Required with Stacey Abrams which is part of Crooked Media. Her latest book is Stacey Speaks Up about what young people can do to create change — and I highly recommend it.
